Product Service Engineer - Generator and Electrical Systems

Job Summary The Engineer – Generator and Electrical Systems Product Service Engineering collaborates with global teams to strengthen expertise in generator and electrical system technology. The role supports root cause investigations, resolves customer technical issues, and partners with cross‑functional teams to deliver timely, effective solutions that support fleet reliability and customer satisfaction. What You’ll Do Collaborate with global cross‑functional teams to build expertise in generator and electrical system technology. Support root cause investigations for issues with significant fleet impact, from initial investigation through the CAPA phase. Respond to internal and external customer requests for technical issue resolution, using product knowledge and analytical skills while adhering to engineering principles, standards, practices, and procedures. Escalate fleet issues as required, acting as liaison between the site team and design engineering to drive technical resolution and identify corrective actions. Maintain active collaboration with manufacturing, sourcing, service operations, quality, and design engineering to ensure customer issues and requirements are understood and addressed timely, in accordance with established processes. Communicate progress across all organization levels, including plant operators and executive leaders. Support cross‑functional teams at conferences, user groups, and customer meetings. Support authoring of knowledge articles and customer communications, including TILs, PSSBs, PSIBs, and safety communications. Prepare technical presentations for GE Vernova leaders and customers, ensuring timely communication of significant issues or developments. Travel to customer locations to support technical review meetings as required. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related field. Minimum of 2 years of experience in generator engineering or related technology. Willingness to travel 5–10% domestically and internationally on short notice. Willingness to work off‑hours and weekends to support emergency issue resolution. Engineering degree, preferably in electrical, mechanical, materials, or systems engineering. Experience working with field data and information. Six Sigma/Lean training experience. Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously. Effective problem identification and problem‑solving skills. Prior customer‑facing experience with a strong commercial mindset. Strong initiative and interpersonal skills to direct cross‑functional projects to completion. Excellent communication of requests and requirements. Capability to build relationships across the organization, fostering loyalty and commitment. Demonstrated analytical and project management skills.
