Description

American Traveler is hiring an LPN/LVN for a skilled nursing facility, requiring 1+ year of LTC experience and BLS certification.

Details

• Skilled nursing/long-term care facility setting
• Patient population includes multiple comorbidities and acute medical care needs
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours, 14:00-23:00
• Every other weekend and holidays required
• Uses PointClickCare charting software (preferred experience)

Requirements

• Current LPN/LVN license required if applicable
• Minimum 1 year of LTC/skilled nursing experience required
• BLS certification required
• Skilled nursing facility/nursing home experience required
• Experience with foley catheters, insulin administration, and IV therapy/medications
• Experience with neurological assessment, dressing changes, and skin/wound assessment
• Experience with wound vac, JP drain, and colostomy care
• Experience with end-of-life/palliative care
• Experience with CPAP/BiPAP machines and Hoyer lift
• Experience with diabetes monitoring
• PointClickCare charting experience preferred
• Must be clean-shaven to achieve proper mask seal for respirator fit testing
• First-time travelers not considered for this role

Additional Information

• Provide nursing care including admission assessments, medication administration, medication reconciliation, and pain assessment/management
• Manage respiratory needs including BiPAP/CPAP, oxygen administration, and tracheostomy care
• Provide gastrointestinal care including colostomy/ileostomy and feeding tube management
• Support patients with neurological conditions including CVA, stroke scale assessment, and traumatic brain injury
• Care for patients with degenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's, ALS, and Parkinson's
• Perform skin care including mouth care, pressure ulcer assessment/prevention, and wound care
• Insert foley catheters and start/maintain IVs
• Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD
• Candidates residing within 70 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Must take a 6-month break between travel assignments after working 1 year as a traveler
• Any solid color scrubs permitted
