Senior Software Engineer, Backend
Jobtailor
- Design, build, and maintain critical APIs and data pipelines
- Enable seamless clinical workflows and real-time data exchange across external systems and the core product
- Drive application platform architecture with consideration for the team and future product roadmap
- Collaborate with product, design, machine learning, and infrastructure teams
- Uphold engineering standards and ensure code is reviewed, tested, and integrated
- Mentor teammates and share technical knowledge
- Champion code quality across individual and team contributions
- Contribute to a SaaS platform while ensuring reliability, data integrity, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with clinical, QA, and regulatory teams to meet validation expectations and support inspection readiness
Requirements
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or closely related technical field
- 5+ years of full life cycle development experience
- Experience designing and building Python-based applications using FastAPI or Django
- Foundation in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented design
- Ability to collaborate with a distributed team and work autonomously
- Problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to attend client-facing meetings and explain technical concepts to non-experts
- Cloud platform experience with AWS
