Head of FP&A and Portfolio Analytics

Our client is an established alternative investment firm. As the firm continues to build on its successful track record, they are looking for a Head of FP&A and Performance Reporting to build and lead a firmwide performance reporting, portfolio analytics, and financial planning function. This is a strategic build mandate, not a maintenance role. The firm wants someone who brings real judgment to how it measures, reports, and communicates performance - a leader who builds durable systems and institutional knowledge, not just someone who produces output. The role reports directly to the CFO, will have the opportunity to grow the team, and collaborates directly with investor relations, fund accounting, and portfolio valuation. What you'll own: Firmwide performance reporting across investment strategies, including quarterly track records and portfolio analytics, as well as fund-level financial model review Gross/net IRR, return attribution, loss metrics, and other performance calculations for senior leadership and investors The platform's reporting data infrastructure, with a mandate to build a durable knowledge base for the firm Management responsibility over a small team from day one, with room to grow the team as the platform scales What you'll bring: 8+ years in FP&A, financial reporting, or portfolio analytics within a direct lending platform, BDC, or private credit firm Genuine, hands-on fluency in credit-specific performance metrics (gross/net IRR with and without leverage, MOIC, DPI, TVPI, loss/default analytics) - this is essential, not a nice-to-have Familiarity with portfolio monitoring systems and data analytics platforms A track record of being a strategic partner to senior finance leadership, not just an output-producer A note on fit: This role calls for someone who wants to build, not inherit a finished function.
