Medical Surgical Float Pool - Travel Registered Nurse- $1890 per week.

Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 18 months of Medical Surgical Float Pool experience.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Alabama license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >60 miles from facility to be submitted.

• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 6 months gap required between for Staff at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB and no current placement allowed at Program: SimpliFi Program - Baptist Health UAB.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: - First-time travelers accepted with a minimum of 18 months of MedSurg and/or ICU experience and Epic or Cerner experience required. If strictly ICU experience, Cerner is required. - At least 1 year of trauma/surgical experience.

Preferred Skills/Experience: - Chemo experience highly preferred but not required.

Special Requests: - You can only have 1 active application for the same position (same unit & shift at the same facility). Example: if you apply for day shift, you can also apply for night shift on the same unit and facility, but you cannot apply for another day shift position on the same unit & facility. - Must be gone from the facility for 6 months before returning as a traveler, measured from last shift worked to start date. - Holiday time off is not contractually guaranteed prior to arrival. - Up to 7 days off may be approved, excluding blackout dates; blackout dates require approval. Blackout dates during this assignment: Thanksgiving 11/26-11/30 and Christmas/New Year’s 12/21-1/1.

Unit Details: - Float pool home unit may include Trauma Surgical, Neuroscience, Med-Surg/Oncology, Orthopedics, or MS/Ortho/Urology. - Trauma Surgical: general surgery and vascular surgeries; expected skills include wound care, chest tubes, NGT, IV skills, medication administration/documentation, and escalations. - Neuroscience: CVA, TBI, seizure, AMS, spinal fusion, craniotomy, degenerative diseases, post-trauma, and angiogram patients; expected skills include IV starts, blood draws from central lines, trach care, PEG/NGT, colostomy/ostomy, wound care, chest tubes, surgical site care, C-collar, abdominal binders, and restraints. - Med-Surg/Oncology: oncology, palliative care, ETOH withdrawal, and high-acuity fast-paced MedSurg patients; chemo administration if certified; telemetry monitoring on hallway monitors and by tele techs. - Orthopedics: joint replacements, fractures, fusions, and laminectomies; expected skills include PCA pumps, negative pressure dressings, dressing changes, Foley care, and hemovac/JP drains. - MS/Ortho/Urology: urology, ENT, ortho, and MedSurg patients; expected skills include trach care, wound vacs, IV starts, CVL dressing changes, and nurse-driven Foley protocol. - Uses Plum 360 pumps, Omnicell, and Spacelabs monitors. - RNs are required to interpret and confirm telemetry strip readings every 4 hours.

Shift & Scheduling: - Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per month. - No call. - One major and one minor seasonal holiday per policy. - 4-week schedule cycle; no self-scheduling.

Floating Requirements: - Float to any like unit/patient location (MS-MS, MS-ICU task, MS-ER/MS holds; ICU-ICU, ICU-MS task or limit of 3, ICU-ER/ICU holds).

7 days maximum time off.
