Trilogy Bickford: The Ridge Wellness Social Club Located within the Bickford Master Plan is Trilogy, a brand-new 55+ community in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. Coming soon is the social hub of the community: The Ridge Wellness Social Club. This planned Club perched high on a ridge features stunning views of the surrounding area, and a variety of amenities, including a resort pool, restaurant, and both indoor and outdoor venues for socializing, fitness, and more.

Where: Located just east of Lincoln in Northern California

Pay: $20 per hour

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Expeditor works closely with the Culinary and Food & Beverage staff to ensure food meets standards for consistency of quality, portions, and presentation and is delivered to guests in a timely manner. This position reports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf (BSRG) to support the achievement of company goals.
• Ensure a consistent set of superior standards of food service are meeting or exceeding employee and guest expectations.
• Create a productive and enjoyable work environment to inspire, motivate, and lead by example, with an intention to recognize team member performance.
• Maintain effective communication between the team members regarding food operations, safety, and employee concerns.
• Understand each menu item, the ingredients for each dish, and the standards for presentation. Know ingredients and possible allergens.
• Monitor guest plates to ensure food meets standards for consistency of quality, portions, and presentation.
• Communicate between kitchen staff and Servers to assure food is delivered to guests in a timely manner. Provide clear direction to the Servers and maintain focus at the food line.
• Keep the food line and surrounding areas clean and organized, with uncompromising levels of cleanliness.
• Ensure that all opening and closing Server Assistant side work is complete at the beginning and end of the shift.
• Respond to safety issues or guest concerns using diplomacy.
• Ensure Servers understand appropriate tables setting, service ware, table numbers and position numbers.
• Monitor the IBS system to ensure accurate entry into the system daily.
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year high-volume restaurant experience preferred.
• Must meet the state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol, if applicable.
• Current Food Handlers Card.
• Ability to learn, and perform, all essential job functions safely and accurately with minimal supervision within two weeks after hire.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; must be able to calculate discounts and percentages
• Ability to understand and implement BSRG dining standards.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memorandums.
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members about job tasks and responsibilities.
• Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
• Must have planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, time management, supervisory and employee development skills.
• Must have excellent analytical, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to respond to the needs and requests of staff members, guests, and the community association.
• Must demonstrate initiative with an ability to think, work, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
• Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
• This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position typically operates in an indoor restaurant setting, but an employee may also be required to work on a patio or for an outdoor event, with exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally native wildlife. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Outdoor environments may require walking on variable terrain while carrying trays or other items and navigating typical event obstacles, including, but not limited to, groups of people, table set ups and decorations, plants and the natural landscape.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear, see, speak clearly and understand the speech of another person, sometimes in a noisy environment. This position is very active and requires standing and walking for most of a work shift. The position requires the ability to lift, balance and carry, bend, reach, and serve from trays weighing up to 20 pounds. Frequent hand washing is required. The employee must be able to see restaurant menus, take customer orders, review customer bills, and navigate busy work areas.
