SPI - SME/Instrumentation Designer

A leading industrial organization is seeking an SPI Designer to maintain and develop instrumentation data and documentation within SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI). The role will ensure accurate, consistent, and compliant instrumentation records across plant operations, capital projects, and Management of Change (MOC) activities. The position will work closely with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Project Teams, SPI Administrators, SMEs, and external contractors to maintain high-quality instrumentation data and support safe, reliable plant operations . Key Responsibiliti ionCreate, revise, and maintain instrument datasheets within S PI.Update loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and associated instrumentation documentati on.Incorporate approved engineering markups, field redlines, MOCs, and project changes into S PI.Review instrumentation documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established design and drafting standar ds.Interpret P&IDs, instrument drawings, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and engineering specificatio ns. Quality Control & Project Sup portPerform QA/QC reviews of SPI deliverables received from engineering contractors and capital proje cts.Validate instrument data, wiring information, loop configurations, and database records prior to rele ase. Use SQL queries, audits, and data valida tion to identify discrepancies and maintain database integr ity.Review project documentation packages and identify inconsistencies or gaps requiring resolut ion.Coordinate with project and engineering teams to resolve documentation and data quality iss ues.Support project closeout by ensuring instrumentation records are accurately updated and integrated into plant syst ementAssign instrument and loop numbers for new projects and MOC activi ties.Coordinate the creation of instrument and equipment records wi thi n SAP.Maintain consistent tagging and numbering standards across SPI and SAP.Support the activation, modification, and retirement of instrumentation records as plant equipment cha nges.
