• Hours per Week: Varies with 8-week schedule (4 days one week, 3 days the next)

• Licensure/Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI or MOAB, NIHSS
• Experience: Minimum 1 year ED experience (First-time travelers need 2 years in perm staff ED)

What You'll Do:

• Provide emergency nursing care for patients across all age groups, including newborns to geriatrics
• Manage patient conditions such as respiratory distress, stroke, cardiac issues, trauma, and mental health crises
• Administer medications, IV starts, and perform nursing assessments with critical thinking skills
• Support patient stabilization and collaborate with hospital teams like RT and hospitalist services
• Function in a fast-paced ER environment, holding admitted patients and managing hall bed assignments
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival for compliance and safety
• Document care accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR software

What You Need:

• Required:
  • Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for compact licensure
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, CPI or MOAB certifications
  • NIHSS certification
  • At least 1 year of ED experience; 2 years for first-time travel nurses
  • Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Preferred:
  • Experience in acute care, emergency room procedures, and IV management
  • Strong critical thinking and multitasking skills
