Responsibilities MedSurg RNs provide bedside care for diverse patients and develop individualized care plans based on patient assessments. They prepare equipment, assist physicians during examinations and treatments, and execute key tasks such as preparing, administering, and documenting prescribed medications. They also respond to adverse symptoms with appropriate interventions, change dressings, insert catheters, and initiate IVs as needed.
