Civil Attorney

Job OverviewA law firm seeks a dynamic and self-starting individual to serve as a Civil Attorney in Dallas, TX. The ideal candidate will demonstrate vision, initiative, and a commitment to civil law, managing a caseload and supervising a team of paralegals. Duties Manage a civil law caseload and supervise paralegals. Monitor active caseload for deadlines and necessary actions. Review and maintain proper recordkeeping and file maintenance. Edit and review drafted original petitions, answers, and counterpetitions. Complete and draft pre-trial discovery documents. Represent clients as 1st chair in bench and jury trials. Attend mediations, depositions, and other case-related proceedings. File post-judgment motions, bills of review, and appeals. Collaborate with other attorneys in the Civil Department. Participate in departmental meetings. Establish and maintain positive relationships with clients and court personnel. Requirements Licensed to practice law in Texas. Relevant legal experience with a commitment to civil law. Demonstrated trial and advocacy skills with litigation experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strategic thinking and planning abilities. Flexible work schedule availability. Strong work ethic and accountability. Occasional travel may be required. Excellent attendance record. Education Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Certifications Licensed to practice law in Texas. Skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
