Responsibilities To assist the Director of the Jesuit facility with the enforcement of established policies and procedures, to maintain the highest quality of maintenance work by initiating creative customer service concepts, and to provide effective supervision and oversight of the facility upkeep and maintenance. Essential Functions Makes daily rounds as needed throughout the building to ensure that all work is completed in a timely and professional manner. Monitors all special projects and participates as needed. Plans, organizes, directs, coordinates, and supervises functions and activities of the department to maintain the buildings and grounds in a comfortable, attractive, and safe condition in a manner that does not interfere with patient/resident care. Regularly inspects and evaluates the facility’s physical condition. Makes recommendations and makes long range preventive maintenance programs concerning painting, repairs, and equipment operation to promote a comfortable, safe and efficient environment. General working knowledge of maintenance upkeep and management. This position requires oversight but some hands‑on work and experience may be needed at times. Ensures routine and scheduled maintenance occurs on all HVAC systems and fire and safety systems as well. Coordinates the accurate and timely ordering and delivery of supplies and parts between staff and director. Consistently adheres to established spending approval process. Develops effective on‑call mechanic rotation schedule and monitors schedule to ensure continuous back‑up coverage. Immediately informs department management of any changes. Coordinates any maintenance related to IT services in conjunction with the Jesuit corporate office. Monitors and issues badges for the employees and others needing access to the building. Ensures building remains safe and secure by using appropriate operational standards. Oversees vendors that facilitate external upkeep of grounds and landscaping to include seasonal plantings and mulch as well as snow removal, etc. Conducts and/or coordinates bi‑weekly in‑service training classes on related building systems using hands‑on training, videos, handouts, and/or appropriate guest speakers. Assures that new employees have timely and thorough department orientation. Provides effective supervision and guidance for assigned employees; discusses performance with each employee on a regular basis, at least quarterly. Monitors performance in light of Stella Maris mission and core values. Requirements High School Diploma Class D Driver's License Five years of related experience Salary & Compensation USD $25.85/Hr. (Min) USD $38.75/Hr. (Max) Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices.
