Commercial Carpenter

Position Summary

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Commercial Carpenter to join our growing construction team. This is not a production framing job or a position limited to one trade. Our carpenters are expected to perform a wide variety of tasks on commercial construction projects, from tenant fit-outs to new ground-up buildings.

The ideal candidate is a team player who takes pride in quality workmanship, has a strong work ethic, and is willing to tackle whatever is needed to keep the project moving. No two days are the same, and flexibility is essential.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Perform commercial demolition and selective demolition.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Layout and construct wood and metal stud framing.
• Install drywall, blocking, insulation, and sheathing.
• Install suspended acoustical ceilings.
• Install commercial doors, frames, hardware, and finish carpentry.
• Install cabinets, countertops, millwork, and specialty finishes.
• Perform rough and finish carpentry.
• Install backing, trim, and miscellaneous carpentry items.
• Assist with concrete work, including forming, placing, finishing, and saw cutting.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely.
• Assist with site preparation, cleanup, material handling, and general labor as needed.
• Load, unload, and organize materials and equipment.
• Assist other trades and subcontractors to maintain project schedules.
• Identify and communicate jobsite issues to the Superintendent or Project Manager.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform any additional construction-related duties necessary to complete the project successfully.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of commercial construction or carpentry experience preferred (experience level may vary based on position).
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately and perform basic construction math.
• Experience using standard carpentry hand tools and power tools.
• Ability to read construction plans is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
• Reliable transportation to and from jobsites.
