Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Job Description
This role focuses on Field Data Hardware Kit builds, encompassing part procurement, building and maintaining test and data acquisition lab inventory, global shipment of kits to assets, and processing field kit returns.
Responsibilities

• Translate customer data requests into appropriate sensor signal type needs and corresponding wiring specifications for field kit design.
• Develop Data Logger configuration files that meet customer requirements for channel types, frequency, and data capture quality.
• Assemble and build kits using hands-on tools and electrical techniques such as soldering, hand drills, and wiring.
• Customize kits and designs as needed to meet customer needs.
• Utilize hands-on electrical experience with wire harnesses, sensors, and components.
• Maintain regular communication with customers on build status, shipment progress, and field kit troubleshooting support.

Essential Skills

• Electrical engineering
• Proficiency in CAN J1939 and electrical schematics
• Ability to translate electrical schematics to wiring harness builds
• Hands-on electrical and tools experience (wiring, soldering, multimeters usage, hand drills, etc.)
• Experience with CAN J1939 / Serial bus communication
• Strong communication, teamwork, and analytical skills
• Effective time management and task prioritization
• Excellent organizational skills, including attention to detail, inventory management, and initiative
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering) with 1-2 years of experience
• Knowledge or experience with CAT
• Engine knowledge (Diesel and/or Gas/DF)

Work Environment
The position is based onsite in Lafayette. The team consists of 9 people in IL, 5 people in IN, and 3 people in India. The role involves collaboration in a diverse and dynamic environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, IN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $45.00/hr.
