Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Trailer Inspection Clerk to support day-to-day operations at our terminal. This position plays a critical role in ensuring trailers meet safety and regulatory standards while delivering exceptional service to our OTR drivers and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a professional demeanor, be comfortable performing both administrative and physical inspection tasks, and demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet drivers and visitors upon arrival; manage the sign-in/sign-out process.
• Conduct visual trailer inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Accurately process driver paperwork and update information in internal systems.
• Serve as the first point of contact for OTR drivers, offering site guidance and support.
• Maintain accurate trailer and equipment records through data entry.
• Coordinate effectively with warehouse operations and site leadership.
• Answer incoming phone calls and address inquiries professionally.
• File documents and maintain administrative records.
• Monitor and report safety issues, driver conduct, or procedural concerns to the Lead Clerk or Site Manager.
• Report all injuries or incidents immediately to site leadership.
• Adhere to Red Baron and customer policies and procedures.
• Maintain a professional appearance and customer-focused attitude.
• Support other administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (testing required).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Friendly, professional demeanor and willingness to assist.
• Ability to physically inspect trailers and navigate the yard.
• Willingness to learn customer systems, policies, and procedures.
• Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
• Ability to identify and report issues promptly and accurately.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Hourly Pay: $15.00 per hour.
• Benefits (available after 90 days):

Schedule:

• Hours: Monday – Friday, 12 hour rotating shift.

PPE Requirements:

• Required: Steel-toe boots (employee must provide).
• Provided: Hi-Vis reflective safety vest and other necessary PPE.
