Staff Engineering Technician

Job Summary Staff Engineering Technician (Civil) supports civil site development by producing and modifying engineering drawings and models under general supervision, using tools such as Autodesk Civil 3D. Key Responsibilities Apply knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and BV policies and procedures. Review project requirements and determine correct format and contents of deliverables. Proactively apply BV Quality Program to deliverables, supporting continuous improvement and change management. Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with project-specific codes and standards. Apply basic engineering principles to develop moderately complex design concepts and deliverables. Provide technical guidance and offer direction to other engineering professionals and technicians. Perform design calculations, detailed material quantities, estimates, and records. Review deliverables of others and provide feedback. Define work assignments and maintain schedules. Program control systems or participate in plant start-up activities within a specialized area of expertise. Coordinate with other design group personnel to review and exchange project information for development. Support field activities, focusing on internal clients while considering external client interests. Proactively seek and share knowledge of latest technologies and processes. Make decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation. Requirements US Citizen required. Onsite 5 days/week. Local candidates only; specify worker office location in candidate summary. Experience with CAD, BIM, and 3D modeling tools. Familiarity with civil engineering principles and design software. Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance within area of expertise.
