Kōsen is seeking a passionate Junior Sommelier to join our Michelin-starred fine-dining team. This is an ideal opportunity for an emerging wine and sake professional looking to build hands-on experience in an intimate chef’s-counter environment while developing their knowledge, service skills, and beverage expertise.

Our 12-seat chef’s counter presents a multi-course tasting menu centered on Japanese ingredients, seafood, and precise culinary technique. The Junior Sommelier plays an active role in the beverage program and the overall guest experience, supporting wine and sake service while fully participating in dining-room service.

• Execute polished wine, sake, and nonalcoholic beverage service.

• Present, open, decant, pour, and serve bottles with confidence and precision.

• Learn guest preferences and provide thoughtful beverage and pairing recommendations.

• Develop detailed knowledge of Kōsen’s tasting menu, wine and sake selections, and current pairings.

• Support the full dining experience, including course marking, presenting dishes, serving, and clearing.

• Assist with cellar organization, beverage deliveries, inventory, open-bottle tracking, and proper storage.

• Participate in tastings, pre-service education, and ongoing beverage training.

Previous fine-dining, tasting-menu, chef’s-counter, wine, or sake service experience is preferred. We’re especially interested in candidates who are curious, coachable, polished with guests, detail-oriented, and genuinely excited to grow in wine and sake. Formal wine or sake coursework is welcomed but not required.
