Sr. Buyer

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Buyer to support procurement operations for a university environment in Bowie, Maryland. This is a Long-term Contract opportunity for a detail-oriented individual who can manage purchasing activities with strong judgment, accuracy, and a service-oriented approach. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in regulated procurement, competitive sourcing, and contract oversight while partnering effectively with campus stakeholders and suppliers.Responsibilities:• Lead purchasing and sourcing activities for assigned categories, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services.• Develop, issue, and manage formal solicitations such as RFPs, IFBs, and RFQs in accordance with established procurement standards.• Evaluate supplier responses, coordinate review processes, and support award recommendations based on pricing, compliance, and business needs.• Administer contracts throughout the procurement lifecycle, including renewals, amendments, performance follow-up, and vendor communication.• Maintain complete and accurate procurement records to support audit readiness, policy adherence, and transparent documentation practices.• Serve as a resource to internal departments by clarifying procurement procedures, resolving purchasing questions, and guiding requestors through sourcing requirements.• Monitor supplier performance and address service, delivery, or contract issues to help maintain dependable vendor relationships.• Assist with procurement-related operational changes or process updates when needed, ensuring continuity of service and proper documentation.
