Scope of Position
Monitors all Quality activities on a project and ensures compliance with the Quality Implementation Plan
(QIP). Participates in design phase activities, and document reviews. Understands design documents and
performs preconstruction (preparatory) meetings, first work in place (initial) observations and periodic
(follow-up) observations to ensure compliance with the design documents, submittals, manufacturer's
requirements, and best practices. Promotes use of materials, finishes, and details with excellent long-term
Quality performance.
Job Responsibilities
- Initiates QIP on every assigned project.
- During design phase:
- Conducts design Quality kick-off meeting
- Ensures design reviews are completed and signed off at 30 and 100%
- Ensures Quality risks and mitigation plans are established/documented.
- Personally reviews final documents on all assigned projects.
- Conducts design Quality kick-off meeting
- Ensures that geotechnical, concrete and envelope reviews are held on all assign projects. Performs
geotechnical report review. Advises Project Director, Construction Project Manager and Design Project
Manager on critical related information.
- During construction phase:
- Conducts construction Quality kick-off meeting.
- Participates in the selection and evaluation of independent testing agencies to support project
construction phase. Develops budgets, administers contracts, and monitors scheduled activities,
such as reports, field activities, tests and inspections on all agencies contracted. Distributes test
results to appropriate design and Quality team members.
- Performs testing, when required, on all scheduled activities not covered by the testing agency or
subcontractor.
- Finalizes the remaining Quality risks with well-developed mitigation plans.
- In conjunction with the Project Manager and Superintendent ensures all precons/preparatory
meetings required by the QIP are conducted. Conducts meetings in area of expertise and where
appropriate.
- Ensures that all first work in place (initial) observations are scheduled and conducted. Also
monitors progress of all required corrective measures. Performs observations in areas of
expertise.
- Ensures in cooperation with Design Project Manager, Construction Project Manager and
Superintendent that all site (follow-up) observations are conducted. Performs all assigned QA
inspections, prepares reports, documents deficiencies, and monitors progress of deficiency
correction.
- Performs the following QC checks during site visits: verification of materials, compliance with
material storage, protection and maintenance requirements (including motors), material
installation compliance with documents (foundation systems, slab on ground, structural framing
systems, building enclosure systems, interior partitions, interior finishes, mechanical system
installations, electrical system installations, and equipment installations. Notifies project team to
provide assistance for checks in areas outside of expertise.
- Conducts construction Quality kick-off meeting.
- During the closeout phase:
- Ensures in cooperation with the Construction Project Manager and Superintendent that Haskell
completion conference and subcontractor completion conferences are conducted and
documented.
- Monitors that AE punch lists are created and completed.
- Performs final QA punch list, documents findings and verifies/documents completion of those
items.
- Conducts in conjunction with the Project Director, Design Project Manager and Construction
Project Manager a Lessons Learned meeting. Prepares Lessons Learned document and
distributes to project team and Director of Quality.
- Ensures in cooperation with the Construction Project Manager and Superintendent that Haskell
- Produces reports which are concise, thorough, logically structured and well written for each QIP
activity for which they are responsible. Distributes reports in a timely manner.
- Communicates to the Quality Manager or Director of Quality potential inconsistencies, deficiencies,
errors, omissions and conditions that may expose the company to liability expenses. Prepares monthly
summary of all assigned QIP's, notes trends and participates in Monthly delivery group QIP meetings.
- Participates in QIP audits with the Quality Manager and/or Director of Quality as requested.
- Attends a minimum of 16 hours each year of professional development (in or out of house) to
improve knowledge base.
- Performs Quality training as requested on specific subject matter (Minimum of 1 per year).
- Creates and implements, with supervisor input, a development plan to become recognized as an SME
(Subject Matter Expert) within the company in a specific area of interest related to the quality of work.
- Assists in preparation of monthly summary of all assigned QIP's, notes trends and participates in
Monthly delivery group QIP meetings.
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience-Bachelor's from an accredited university in architecture, engineering, construction
management or other degree related to the AEC profession. - Experience in technical design and/or construction expertise and background in Quality
Specific Knowledge, Skills, License, Certifications
- Certifications (minimum of 2 of the following): CQM (government), ACI level I, II, ACI National and
ICRI, RCI Roofing Inspector, Structural Steel Erector, Soils testing and mechanical/electrical/plumbing
engineering for non-engineers.
- Ability to read and effectively interpret building construction documentation and associated
reports.
- Ability to conduct effective preconstruction (preparatory) meetings to define Quality standards and
inspection procedures. Ability to inspect construction progress at scheduled intervals.
- Ability to interfaces with client's Quality personnel and provides direction to ensure compliance with
testing, inspection procedures and results to onsite Quality Control inspectors.
- Good interpersonal/communication skills to effectively work with others.
- Good organizational skills to handle/prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-up.
- Computer skills:
- Ability to work with a laptop, tablet (iPad or Microsoft equivalent), and mobile
devices. - Ability to access project information remotely when working outside the office using VPN
and/or Citrix. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability to utilize project management controls system software and other applicable construction
technologies including basic 3-D model navigation skills utilizing: Navisworks, BIM 360 Glue or similar.
- Ability to manage/store project photos from tablet and mobile devices to project files.
- Ability to work with a laptop, tablet (iPad or Microsoft equivalent), and mobile
- Ability to travel to project sites. Travel will be greater than 70% of this individual's time.
- Assignments may be full time on-site for the full project duration.
- Successfully completed or will successfully complete within one year the OSHA 30-hour Construction Industry Outreach Training Program.

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient
to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry,
move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and
finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read
application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk
and hear.
