We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office.As an Electrical Engineer in the Oak Ridge office, you will perform a variety of electrical engineering design and construction support functions. This includes survey/assess existing facility, scoping and estimating level of engineering effort; field work to assess existing conditions; report writing; conceptual design; design development of drawings, specifications, and calculation analyses; and assistance with cost estimating. For construction support, the following activities are required: dispositioning NCRs, performing assessments on existing design, responding to RFIs, issuing Design Change Notices (DCNs). Duties also include coordination with Quality on inspections and supporting development of Scopes of work for electrical subcontracts; and services during bidding and construction, including answering requests for information, bid review, shop drawing review, site visits during construction, commissioning support, hosting progress meetings, and project closeout. Let's get to work!Qualifications:BS-Electrical Engineering from an ABET-certified institution andFE LicenseThree (3) or more years of electrical engineering design experienceConstruction support experience for Title 3 activitiesSole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)Short Circuit Analysis experienceSome knowledge of the NECExperience working in groups of engineers and designers on projectsExperience of leading technical discussions with clientsAbility to author proposals and Statements of work is a plusPreferred Qualifications:PE LicenseDOE experience desiredNQA-1 experience desiredArc Flash Analysis experienceFamiliarity with Instrumentation & Controls interfaceKnowledge of electrical systems is required, including power system design, load centers, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selectionAbility to produce sizing calculations and other analyses/reports is desired.Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is desired.Work LocationThis position is designed to support either in-office or remote work, with a strong preference for the successful candidate to work from Amentum's office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. Employees who reside within 50 miles of Oak Ridge will be expected to work from the Oak Ridge office. Employees who live more than 50 miles away are eligible for a remote work arrangement; however, remote employees must travel to the Oak Ridge office on a quarterly basis. Those working remotely are required to maintain a company-approved secure workspace that meets all client security requirements and is located within the United States. This U.S.-based secure work location requirement applies to all projects associated with the position.Compensation Details:$90,000 - $160,000The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
