Member Requirements Be an active and involved Church member who: Exhibits a personal and growing relationship with God in Christ Has a teachable spirit, a healthy family life, and seeks to be above reproach in all areas of life. Develops a personal passion for God through private and corporate times of worship, regular devotional time, prayer, tithing, fellowship, and Bible study. Demonstrates the love of Christ for non‑Christians, attempting to lead them closer to Christ through every interaction. Experiences Christian community through regular participation with a small group, for personal as well as mutual spiritual growth and maturity. Actively attends church events and fellowships to develop meaningful relationships with other church members. Special Requirements Has a clear calling for, and devotion to, ministry to students and their families, for their salvation and their development practically and spiritually. Has a strong and growing knowledge of Scripture and its application Recognizes, submits to, and leads from the absolute authority of God’s Word Is flexible and adaptable to change. Is a Team Player. Possesses communication, organization and administrative abilities. Is willing to find opportunities to grow further in ministry knowledge and ability and in ministry effectiveness. Primary Ministry Duties Lead students, providing opportunities for them to accept Christ as Savior and Lord. Lead students to grow through the Church. Teach students to worship, fellowship, serve, and apply Bible truths to their lives. Coordinate and correlate the Student Ministry to every other ministry and the entire Church program. Oversee planning, organization and implementation of all activities of the Student Ministry. Maintain a system of follow‑up for guests, absentees, and faithful attenders. Plan and direct Student camps, retreats, and mission trips. Plan and direct parenting skills, growth and training opportunities according to identified needs. Counsel youth and parents as needed while maintaining confidentiality. Conduct weekly Student Bible study. Teach Sunday School or recruit a teacher/s and train as needed. Include Ministry Team Leaders by delegating some responsibilities to them. Recruit Volunteers to serve in the Student Ministry. Conduct special training projects for volunteers and teachers in the Student Ministry. Plan at least a quarterly Student Ministries meeting to discuss plans for the future and work on current problems. Advise in the selection and use of curriculum, materials, equipment, supplies, and space by Student groups in cooperation with all church ministries. Be available to the Student Ministry volunteers/leaders Maintain consistent and clear communication with volunteers/leaders and students/parents Develop relationships with local school officials and be available to speak and/or visit in the schools. Represent the Student Ministry by serving on the Leadership Team: Attend monthly Leadership Team meetings to share reports on ministry successes and struggles from the previous month for the purpose of celebration and support for the Student Ministry. Also, submit any plans for events, or make any needs known (including personnel, equipment and annual budget requests). Meet regularly with the pastor for prayer, encouragement and general communication about the Student Ministry in the scope of all the ministries of Grace Temple.
