Registered Nurse (RN)

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive nursing care within a clinical setting, focusing on a variety of patient needs, including myocardial infarction (MI), congestive heart failure (CHF), arrhythmias, peripheral vascular disease (PVD), and medical-surgical overflow. The position is responsible for the administration and management of cardiac drips, while adhering to best practices in patient care, assessment, and education.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care consistent with the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and their families.
• Administer medications and treatments following established protocols, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed therapies.
• Document patient history, symptoms, treatment administered, and outcomes.
• Assess educational needs and provide relevant information to patients, family members, and caregivers.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant competencies and standards of nursing practice.

Work Schedule

This full-time position operates on a night shift schedule, from 7 PM to 7 AM, with a requirement to work every other weekend.

Nurse / Patient Ratio

The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1, with the possibility of expanding to 6:1 during high-demand periods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
• Current ACLS certification from the AHA is required.
• Active RN License in the state of employment or a compact state.

Additional Requirements

• Newly hired experienced RNs must complete orientation within the first 30 days of hire.
• Participation in a residency program or other specific orientation may be required for newly licensed RNs.
• Compliance with all annual competency verification requirements is expected.
• Ability to float to other departments as required.

The designated dress code for this position is ceil blue scrubs.
