Position Summary

GEICO is seeking a Senior Engineer, Workday Talent Management to support and enhance the talent management capabilities within the Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. This role partners closely with People Group (Human Resources), Workday engineers, report developers, integration teams, and business stakeholders to design, configure, test, and implement Talent Management solutions that drive business outcomes.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Workday Talent functionality, including talent reviews, talent pools, calibration, career development, internal mobility, and talent optimization. This individual will serve as a technical leader, helping shape strategy, improve existing processes, and deliver innovative solutions across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Workday Talent Management

• Configure, maintain, and enhance Workday Talent Management functionality.
• Partner with HR and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions.
• Support Talent Management processes, including: Talent Reviews Talent Pools Calibration Events Career Hub Internal Mobility Talent Optimization
• Integrate Workday Skills capabilities into talent-related processes and workflows.
• Lead solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-production support.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical expertise and thought leadership across the organization.
• Drive innovation by identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems, and user experiences.
• Develop and execute technical roadmaps that increase delivery speed and engineering capabilities.
• Ensure high standards for application quality, performance, scalability, and usability.
• Influence strategic decisions and partner across engineering teams to solve complex business challenges.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including: Human Resources Finance Workday Report Writers Integration Engineers Product and Engineering Teams
• Support the deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of Workday solutions.
• Lead testing efforts, validate business requirements, and ensure successful implementation of enhancements.
• Evaluate operational processes and recommend improvements to optimize outcomes.

Mentorship & Team Development

• Mentor and coach engineers to strengthen technical capabilities across the organization.
• Foster a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and knowledge sharing.
• Act as a role model for engineering best practices and professional development.

Compliance & Operational Excellence

• Adhere to company policies, operating principles, and the GEICO Code of Conduct.
• Maintain accountability for delivering secure, reliable, and high-performing solutions.
• Meet attendance and collaboration requirements necessary to support business operations and team success.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 4+ years of hands-on Workday Talent Management configuration experience.
• Experience configuring and supporting: Talent Reviews Talent Pools Calibration Events Career Hub Internal Mobility Talent Optimization
• Experience integrating Skills functionality into Workday Talent processes.
• Experience managing both annual talent cycles and standalone project initiatives.
• Strong requirements gathering, business process analysis, testing, and implementation experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing projects.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to quickly learn and apply complex technical and procedural information.
• Experience training business partners and team members on Workday functionality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Workday Talent Pro Certification.
• Experience with Workday Talent Optimization.
• Experience partnering with Human Resources and Finance organizations on enterprise-wide initiatives.
• Proven experience leading complex Workday implementations and enhancements.

Annual Salary

$100,000.00 - $215,000.00

The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
