Controls Engineer

The Process/Controls Engineer provides controls / electrical engineering support to the assigned UAP cell and assists maintenance in supporting the plant through trouble shooting / problem solving methodologies to eliminate down time and decrease quality defects to the customer. The Process/Control Engineer will also write / create / modify programs to meet the plant objectives as well as maintain warranty and OEM liabilities.Responsibilities:• Contribute to the Engineering Change Management process• Responsible for the process design and implementation• Support continuous improvement• Support production through problem solving and participation in QRCI process• Assist production with trouble shooting and programming• Behave in accordance with our values as established in Faurecia’s code of ethics and code of management.• Commitment to the highest ethical standards and willingness to adhere to Faurecia’s Code of Ethics and Code of Management.Automation/Controls Responsibilities:• Trouble shooting and programming PLC’s – preferably Siemens• Trouble shooting and programming vision inspection systems• Robotics – Linear and articulating• Lean – assembly line balancing, visual factory, KanbanProcess design:• Define cycle time in line with takt time and standard operations• Integrate ergonomics principles in line design• Release manufacturing process documents• Issue process flowcharts• Conduct process FMEA• Support updating plant layout• Follow-up prototype builds• Get support from relevant technology experts or support functionsProcess implementation:• Ensure equipment delivery and installation in the plant for continuous improvement• Carry out process activity analysis• Implement improvement action plans• Participate in equipment reception process• Capitalize on lessons learned and provide best practicesYour profile and competencies to succeedKnowledge / Skills: • Strong communication skills - ability to interface with other functions – and work with employees at all levels of the organization • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and multi-task• Strong analytical and problem-solving skilled • Must be very knowledgeable in Process and Manufacturing methodsEducation / Experience: No regular business travel requirement except for trainingAt least 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing, including one position in Manufacturing EngineeringPreferably a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or technical disciplineTrained in Faurecia Excellence SystemAuto CAD, Electrical and mechanical, Multiple controls logic languages software programming, robot programming, robot programmingProficient level of English *This position is not eligible now or in the future for Visa sponsorship*What we can do for youAt Forvia, you will find an engaging and dynamic environment where you can contribute to the development of sustainable mobility leading technologies.
