Accountant/ Bookkeeper
Remote (Texas preferred) - Full-Time

Our client is a growing B2B beverage importer building a dynamic portfolio of imported and private-label brands across a fast-moving network of distributors, retailers, and supplier partners. With a focus on bringing brands to the U.S. market while navigating complex multi-state compliance and licensing requirements. They are seeking a detail-driven Bookkeeper/Accountant to keep the financial side of the business just as agile and accurate. This role will own day-to-day financial recordkeeping, keep QuickBooks current and reconciled, deliver timely management reporting, and provide leadership with clear, on-demand insight into the company's financial position as purchasing, inventory, sales, and compliance operations continue to grow.

What You'll Do

• Own day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks - transaction entry, coding, and monthly account and bank reconciliations.
• Reconciling and problem-solving discrepancies in A/P and A/R.
• Build and run financial reports on demand for management, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and ad hoc analyses as business questions come up.
• Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, vendor payments, and following up on outstanding balances.
• Support month-end and year-end close, working with outside CPAs/tax preparers as needed.
• Track and reconcile purchase orders and inventory-related transactions alongside the sales and compliance teams.
• Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records and documentation.
• Use Excel for reporting, reconciliations, and data analysis beyond what QuickBooks handles natively.
• Flag discrepancies, cash flow risks, or unusual trends to leadership proactively rather than waiting to be asked.

What We're Looking For

• Fully versed in QuickBooks (Desktop), with the ability to work independently in the system day to day.
• Proven experience producing financial reports and reconciliations for a small or mid-sized business.
• Medium-to-advanced Excel skills - comfortable with formulas, pivot tables, and building clean reporting views from raw data.
• Based in Texas, with the ability to work remotely and be reliably available during core business hours.
• Strong attention to detail and follow-through; comfortable owning numbers that leadership relies on.
• Clear written and verbal communication - able to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
• Experience in beverage, food, distribution, or another regulated import/wholesale industry preferred.
• Basic familiarity with Claude or similar AI tools, used to speed up reporting and administrative work preferred.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred.
