HIL Propulsion engineer

Overview Job Title: Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Propulsion and Commissioning Engineer Location: Auburn Hills, MI Responsibilities Design and build HIL benches that mimic Stellantis’ propulsion systems. Commission new HIL setups by configuring hardware, wiring, and software connections. Run tests to validate propulsion features (engine controls, transmission, hybrid systems, battery systems). Troubleshoot and fix issues in hardware/software integration. Support Stellantis engineers by providing accurate test data and reporting results. Maintain and upgrade test systems as new propulsion technologies are introduced. Work closely with Stellantis’ cross-functional teams (software, controls, wiring, calibration, and suppliers) to ensure successful validation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering (Master’s preferred). Hands-on experience with HIL systems (such as dSPACE or NI systems). Knowledge of propulsion systems – internal combustion, hybrid, or electric. Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink or similar modeling tools. Good problem-solving, debugging, and teamwork skills.
