Practice Nurse

Dermatology Surgical Nurse

Provide nursing care for outpatient dermatology surgical patients in an ambulatory care setting, including direct patient care, treatment procedures, and diagnostic tasks.

Prepare treatment and surgical rooms by assembling and preparing necessary instruments, supplies and equipment required for the type of procedure scheduled.

Assist with dermatological surgical procedures.

Provide patient and family instructions for home care of the site.

Responsible for performing general equipment maintenance, stocking supplies, instruments, and medical forms in the surgical room.

Support the Nurse Manager in maintaining current licensure and certifications for support staff, ensuring that work areas are adequately staffed with nursing personnel.

Prepare Mohs surgical specimens for microscopic analysis by grossing, embedding, and cutting tissue with a cryostat.
