PGD Engineer - Solar Inverter

About the role:

We're looking for a PGD Engineer - Solar Inverter on behalf of our client. This is a 1-year contract assignment. It is a W-2 position. The Power Generation Division is looking for a PGD Engineer. This engineer will apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. You will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

CWE/ROCC Process Improvements:

* Develop and refine troubleshooting guides for top fault codes across all inverter technologies

* Build and maintain fault code database and Do Not Reset (DNR) lists

* Use AI to create troubleshooting guides and apply engineering principles to datasets to synthesize information

* Be the primary technical liaison between Solar Inverter Fleet Team, ROCC, and CWE, acting independently on technical matters

* Complete process improvement assignments with broad terms, general goals, and limitations

* Work with individuals and OEMs within and outside the organization with responsibility to regarding technical matters pertaining to individual projects

* Support the responsibilities - Solar Inverter Team:

* Support component failure rate analysis and development of work plans

* Become a subject matter expert in at least one inverter manufacturer

* Conduct root-cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures at solar sites

* Assist field technicians and ROCC operators with troubleshooting inverter and other solar issues

* Help develop countermeasures for recurring issues

* Support responses to regulatory bodies for data requests

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering

* Bachelor's Degree in other engineering discipline with equivalent experience with electrical systems

* 5+ years of engineering experience

* Utility-scale inverter and power electronics experience

* And ability to work with operations teams

Helpful Qualifications:

* Master's degree in electrical engineering

* 2 years of experience with solar inverters

* Previous experience in operations support or control center environments
