Summary
We are seeking a warm, welcoming, and organized Host/Hostess to be the first point of contact for our guests. The Host/Hostess is responsible for greeting guests, managing reservations, and ensuring a smooth and positive guest experience from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests as they arrive and provide a friendly, welcoming first impression.
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using the reservation system or seating chart.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the host stand, entrance, and waiting areas.
- Communicate accurately with servers and managers regarding guest needs and table availability.
- Answer phone calls, take reservations, and provide restaurant information as needed.
- Assist with special requests such as seating arrangements or guest accommodations.
- Monitor dining room flow and coordinate seating to maximize efficiency.
- Support team members by assisting with service tasks when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous host/hostess or customer service experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional, polished appearance and demeanor.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
