Intern

Duties and other assigned tasks and responsibilities are designed to meet CCPHC's mission of delivering the essential public health services of prevention, promotion and protection to the communities of Clay County, as well as a response to the CCPHC Strategic Plan.

SUMMARY

Under the supervision of the Program Manager, the Intern position is designed to provide practical experience and skill development in a variety of aspects surrounding public health - community health promotion, health planning and policy, environmental health, and operations, while working in a collaborative and professional environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist with Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) initiatives
• Facilitate and organize meetings relevant to assigned projects
• Support Community Health Assessment/Community Health Improvement Planning initiatives
• Develop communication materials for relevant projects
• Support strategic planning initiatives across public health programs
• Conduct research and analysis to inform data-driven decision-making on community health trends and environmental health risks
• Assist with design, implementation, and evaluation of public health campaigns and outreach strategies
• Coordinate with internal departments to align program goals with CCPHC's priorities and policies
• Engage with community partners and stakeholders to promote quality health and community-informed interventions
• Evaluate the effectiveness of health promotion programs through data collection, surveys, and outcome metrics
• Present findings and recommendations to CCPHC leadership and stakeholders
• Develop educational and training materials for internal staff and external community use
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives across departmental operations and public health service delivery
• Analyze data to identify disparities, inform programs, and support evidence-based practices
• Adhere to confidentiality standards and CCPHC protocols in all project work and communication
• Maintains strict confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations
• Reports for special assigned duties during a public health emergency, if applicable

QUALIFICATIONS

• Current graduate student enrolled in a Masters program OR recent (<1 year) graduate seeking practicum experience.*
• Excellent computer, communication, organizational, time management, attention to detail and accuracy skills are required.
