RN Unit Manager

RN Unit ManagerWe are seeking an experienced and compassionate RN Unit Manager to join our team at Bell Minor Home, a Skilled Nursing Facility in Gainesville, GA. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for the clinical oversight, staffing coordination, and day-to-day operational management of an assigned nursing unit. If you are a knowledgeable and skilled nursing professional with a passion for delivering high-quality, person-centered care, we encourage you to apply.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Supervise and direct nursing staff (CNAs, LPNs, RNs) on the assigned unit across all shifts; conduct and document comprehensive nursing assessments for newly admitted and current residents; develop, review, and update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team (IDT); monitor residents for changes in condition; and oversee wound care, medication management, and treatment protocols for assigned residents.Assist the DON with unit-level scheduling to maintain appropriate staffing ratios per shift; address callouts and staffing gaps in real time; monitor and enforce compliance with agency utilization targets and overtime thresholds; and evaluate daily staffing levels against census and acuity.Ensure all clinical documentation is accurate, complete, and timely in accordance with CMS requirements and facility policy; support MDS coordination by providing timely clinical data for accurate RAI/MDS completion; participate in preparation for and response to state surveys (AHCA/ODHS inspections); and monitor F-tag risk areas on the unit.Track and trend unit-level quality indicators including falls, pressure injuries, infections, and rehospitalizations; participate in QAPI initiatives; implement and monitor interventions to address identified deficiencies; and conduct regular chart audits and nursing documentation reviews.Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to nursing staff on the unit; identify training needs and collaborate with the Staff Development Coordinator to address clinical competency gaps; participate in performance evaluations for unit staff in coordination with the DON; and foster a culture of accountability, professionalism, and respect among the care team.Conduct or participate in shift-to-shift huddles to ensure continuity of care and communication; maintain open lines of communication with residents, families, and responsible parties regarding care concerns; submit required unit reports to leadership on schedule; and assist with onboarding of new nursing hires assigned to the unit.Qualifications:Active, unrestricted RN license issued by the Georgia Board of Nursing – requiredCurrent CPR/BLS certification – requiredMinimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience in a long-term care, skilled nursing, or post-acute rehabilitation setting – requiredMinimum 1 year of charge nurse, supervisory, or unit management experience – preferredExperience with Point Click Care (PCC) or similar SNF EHR platform strongly preferredFamiliarity with MDS/RAI process and CMS SNF survey protocols preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Working knowledge of 42 CFR Part 483 Conditions of Participation and Georgia SNF regulationsStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsDemonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and hold nursing staff accountableProficiency in electronic health records and Microsoft Office applicationsExcellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressureCommitment to resident-centered care and maintaining a dignified living environmentIf you are a dedicated and compassionate nursing professional who is passionate about delivering exceptional care, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
