Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks with precision and flair
- Handle retail sales transactions efficiently using our POS systems - clover
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting guests warmly, taking orders accurately, and addressing inquiries promptly
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, food prep stations, and seating spaces in accordance with food safety standards
- Manage cash handling duties accurately, including cash register operations and balancing cash drawers at shift end
- Assist in food preparation and serving, ensuring quality standards are met for all menu items
- Support food safety protocols by following proper handling procedures and maintaining a hygienic environment
Requirements
- Prior barista experience or background in food service is preferred, but enthusiasm to learn is highly valued
- Familiarity with Clover POS System is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and transaction accuracy
- Excellent time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and proper serving techniques
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks involved in café operations
- Experience with retail sales transactions, cashiering, or food industry roles is advantageous
- Must provide a certificate from a state of Ohio approved Person in Charge food safety course
