Parts Manager

Summary:

The Parts Manager strives to return a satisfactory profit on dealer capital invested in parts inventory. Accomplishes objectives through the use of proper purchasing procedures, inventory control, staff utilization, security, pricing, merchandising, displaying, and advertising.

Parts Manager Responsibilities:

• Hire, motivate, mentor and train the Part Department team
• Develop and administer an aggressive profitable wholesale parts program to increase profit
• Establish individual parts inventory levels and balance them for maximum inventory turns
• Monitor and adjust inventory to minimize obsolescence, ensuring and following all factory returns programs
• Partner with the Service Manager as needed

Parts Manager Qualifications:

• 5+ years of management experience in an automotive parts role or equivalent
• Experience with Reynolds and Reynolds and/or ADP/CDK
• High level of initiative and ability to work, train and motivate a team
• Read and interpret documents, write routine reports and correspondence
• Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees
• Calculate figures and amounts such as commission, discounts, proportions, percentages, interest, etc.
• Define, research and resolve problems, thinking outside the box as needed
