POSITION SUMMARY: The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) delivers efficient and effective nursing care while achieving positive clinical outcomes and patient/family satisfaction. He/she will function within the standards of practice as accorded by his/her certification. The CNA performs various patient care activities and related non-professional services essential to caring for personal needs and comfort of patients.RESPONSIBILITIES:Patient CareTreat all residents fairly, with kindness, dignity and respectProvide nursing care in privacyMaintain confidentiality and protect sensitive Protected Health Information at all timesProvide patient care in a manner conductive to safety and comfort. Patient care includes, but is not limited to:Keep patients dry (change clothing and linens when wet or soiled)Assist with meals and daily snacks as indicatedAssist patient with or performs Activities of Daily Living (ADL)Assists patients with ambulation and transfersPosition patients in correct body alignment in and out of bedAssist physician and/or licensed nurse with treatments and procedures as neededAnswer call light promptly, delivers messages, cleans areas of spillage or accidentsReport changes in patient’s condition, patient/family concerns or complaints to the Studio ManagerReport all complaints and grievances made by the resident to the Studio ManagerTeamworkParticipates in the orientation of newly hired staffCollects and bags soiled linen and delivers to dirty linen area and washes themObtains clean linens and supplies from supply area, cleans utility rooms, kitchen areas and all other areas as assignedCollaborates and coordinates with other departments to provide timely effective care consistent with individual’s needs, choices and preferencesContributes to an environment that is respectful, team – oriented and responsive to the concerns of staff, patients and familiesStays and works beyond scheduled shift if needed to meet patients’ needsAttends team meetings regularly, to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas, and/or the improvement of servicesActively participate and interact during students’ visits and internship program in the StudiosNotifies the supervisor promptly when late or absentPerforms other duties as requestedFollow run/attend scheduled group activities with the residents including but not limited to exercise/walking group, trivia, sing – a – long, etc.Willing to cook breakfasts, lunches or dinner for the residents in the studios according to the set scheduleENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:May need to reach overhead, handle objectsMay need to move, transport or position objects up to 40 poundsContinuous moving, standing, climbing, frequent periods requiring sustained uncomfortable physical conditionsMay need to ascend/descend stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and twistWorks beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessaryIs subject to call – back during emergency conditions (e.g. severe weather, post – disaster, etc.)Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS and Hepatitis B virusesIs subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as to reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminantsSPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:Successful completion of a state approved certified nursing assistant programA minimum of a high school education or high school equivalency diploma is preferred.JOB SKILLS:Thrive in a team environment and work well with othersKnowledge of procedures and techniques involved in administering simple treatments and providing related bedside patient care services, as permitted by state regulationKnowledge of basic medical asepsis and standard personnel, and visitorsThis position requires that the employee is able to read, write, speak and understand the spoken English language to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our patients and visitors at the work site when responding to their medical and physical needsMust provide verification of TST (tuberculin skin test) as required by law and in accordance with Company policyBasic knowledge of computer use or willingness to learnMust attend a minimum of 12 hours per year continuing education programs in order to maintain certificationCan respond cheerfully in all interactions with patients,
