Cardiovascular ICU Nocturnal PRN Advanced Practice Provider

Cardiovascular ICU Nocturnal PRN Advanced Practice Provider Dell Medical School, in partnership with Ascension Texas, is seeking Advanced Practice Nurses or Physician Assistants to join the Institute for Cardiovascular Health. These practitioners will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to deliver world‑class adult cardiovascular and thoracic surgical care. In collaboration with supervising physicians, the Advanced Practice Professional (APP) will expand individualized health‑care services by diagnosing and treating adult cardiovascular and thoracic conditions. The APP will split clinical time between the telemetry floor and the clinic, providing patient‑centered, competent, compassionate, and professional care in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Responsibilities Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs health assessments, screening and patient care. Provides direct treatment and management of conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other health‑care providers or community resources. Documents delivery of health‑care and nursing processes in accordance with specialty area standards and network nursing policy. Participates in the orientation and education of staff and students. Other related functions as assigned. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited training program and board certified by the respective accreditation body. Physician Assistant with board certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed through the Texas Medical Board. Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority and board certification through either the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate. Preferred Qualifications Cardiovascular and thoracic experience preferred. Ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast‑paced environment with minimal guidance. Ability to address individuals and information with a high degree of sensitivity and confidentiality in various situations. Capacity to work well with physicians and other care providers as part of a multi‑disciplinary health‑care delivery team. Salary Range $90.5/hr.+ depending on qualifications.
