This Health Information Specialist position is part of a small team that's responsible for processing all medical records requests and ensuring compliance within our electronic medical record system.Primary responsibilities include:Working within two Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systemsResearching medical records requests to ensure adherence with state and federal privacy regulationsProcessing appropriate documentation through our disclosure management system for secure transmissionPerforming compliance audits on records access and other similar audit-based functionsActing as the liaison between NCSS and primary care physicians as well as other requesting partiesSuccessful candidates will possess effective oral and written communication skills, be detail-oriented, possess strong customer service and time management skills, be a critical thinker as well as a coachable team player and must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.While we are willing to train and mentor the right person, ideal candidates would have background in the healthcare field, a solid understanding of HIPAA law and experience within an electronic medical record environment.At NCSS, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes perks such as medical and dental coverage, an employer-matched retirement plan, and educational support.
