Shelter Operations Manager

Position Overview Department: Summit County Sheriff’s Office – Animal Control Division Position Classification: Shelter Operations Manager (40 hours/week) Exempt Responsibilities Oversee the daily functions of the Animal Control/Shelter office and animal holding areas. Manage database records and generate reports. Inventory feed, medical and office supplies. Supervise, hire, evaluate, train and develop operations staff. Review and approve invoices, submit monthly reports and reconcile grant monies. Reconcile receipts for weekly deposits, assist in the budget process. Schedule veterinary clinics and assist in clinic procedures. Expectations Display a positive demeanor and support the mission of Animal Control. Collaborate closely with the public, shelter staff, and volunteers. Qualifications 21 years of age. Valid Colorado Driver’s License with ability to safely operate a motor vehicle. High School Diploma or equivalent. Associate’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, work experience. Three years experience working in an animal shelter. Supervisory or acting supervisory experience. Working knowledge of animal behavior. Ability to prepare and maintain records and reports. Data entry and MS Office skills. Public relations experience and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to handle the public in difficult and sometimes emotional situations. Pass a criminal background check. Salary & Benefits Step pay system: SO70 exempt, $75,729-$99,709 DOQ. $2,000 sign‑on bonus, wellness benefit program, education reimbursement, and an excellent benefits package.
