United has over 60,000 customers in its database and actively serves approximately 30,000 of them at any given time, making its customer base broadly diversified. United’s products are used by professional maintenance personnel at institutions, industrial companies, municipalities and commercial establishments primarily throughout the continental United States and Canada. The Company delivers over 350 products to its diverse customer base. In 1996, United became an employee-owned company. The Company is majority owned by the ESOP Trust. Employees who have completed at least one year of service are eligible to participate in the ESOP Plan. United presently employs over 225 people.
Over the past decade, United has acquired several companies, including a gel-cup deodorant manufacturer, a small chemical manufacturing company, and a supplier of chemical products for fleet maintenance and the printing industry.
