Calibration Technician

Job Description The Calibration Technician plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality calibration services at various customer locations. This position requires travel, including local day trips and occasional overnight stays, depending on customer needs and project specifications. The technician will engage in calibration across multiple disciplines, including RF, electrical, dimensional, torque, pressure, and temperature. We are looking for candidates with hands‑on calibration experience, a solid grasp of industry standards, and openness to cross‑train in different areas. Strong technical documentation skills and a professional demeanor in customer interactions are essential for this role. Key Responsibilities Conduct calibrations in line with company procedures and relevant standards (ISO/IEC 17025, ISO9001, AS9100, ANZ540.1). Specialize in general calibration while supporting additional disciplines as required; show eagerness to learn and operate in multiple calibration areas. Accurately document calibration outcomes to ensure traceability, thoroughness, and compliance. Maintain and validate calibration standards, reporting any equipment issues to supervisors promptly. Travel to customer sites for calibration work, involving a mix of local and overnight travel. Assist in setting up and dismantling mobile calibration workstations or onsite laboratories. Communicate effectively and professionally with customers regarding service progress, technical requirements, and scheduling. Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to complete assigned tasks promptly. Engage in onboarding and cross‑training opportunities to enhance versatility across different disciplines. Provide valuable feedback and participate in ongoing improvement of service delivery methods. Adhere to all safety regulations, company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and calibration protocols. Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, including audits, compliance checks, and lean initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen). Help maintain clean and organized calibration workspaces and equipment. Qualifications 1–3 years of calibration experience in either a laboratory or field setting. Experience with RF/GP calibration is preferred. Willingness to travel, including local and overnight assignments as needed. Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and other calibration standards. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in following technical guidelines. Preferred Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics. Familiarity with calibration and service management tools such as FSM, CalWeb, and Gage. Eagerness to cross‑train across various calibration disciplines (e.g., RF, electrical, pressure, temperature, torque, dimensional). Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service. Experience in customer‑facing or onsite roles, particularly with large accounts or multi‑site operations.
