Food Runner

RVR is seeking an exceptional Food Runner to join our high-volume, chef-driven restaurant in Venice.

Our Food Runners are an essential connection between the kitchen and dining room: this is not simply a “carry plates” position.

We are looking for hospitality professionals who work with urgency, communicate clearly, and take pride in delivering every dish accurately, efficiently, and to the highest standard. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, calm under pressure, detail-oriented, and committed to supporting both the guest experience and the success of the team.

Team members who demonstrate strong performance, professionalism, and leadership potential will have the opportunity to train and develop toward becoming certified expeditors, servers or shift leads. 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver food accurately, efficiently, and with a strong sense of urgency.
• Verify dish accuracy, quality, presentation, and proper accompaniments.
• Communicate clearly with guests, chefs, expeditors, servers, and management.
• Maintain strong menu and product knowledge.
• Support the pace and flow of service by anticipating needs and responding quickly.
• Keep expo and service areas clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service.
• Complete all opening, in-service, and closing responsibilities to standard.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and company policies.
• Support teammates and perform additional duties as assigned based on operational needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & AVAILABILITY

This position requires the ability to:

• Stand and walk for extended periods, up to 8 hours per shift.
• Frequently bend, reach, lift, and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Perform repetitive movements and use manual dexterity throughout the shift.
• Work effectively in hot, cold, and fast-paced environments.
• Walk up and down stairs repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Valid food handlers certificate & alcohol server awareness training
• You must have 2-3 years of previous high-volume restaurant experience at similar elevated dining establishments.
