Assistant Land Development Manager

Assistant Land Development Manager Location Roseville, CA, US Responsibilities Assist the Land Development Manager with all aspects of land development for communities. Schedule, coordinate, and monitor land development activities from site clearing through completion of finished home sites and tract final bond exoneration work. Interact daily with the Land Development Manager, City/County Staff, consultants, trade partners, and other stakeholders. Manage tasks related to scheduling, coordination of sub‑contractors, problem‑solving, and bond exoneration tasks. Maintain construction schedules and budgets. Communicate with subcontractors, Project Managers, and City/County inspectors to resolve operational issues. Travel to job sites to coordinate site development and address critical issues. Enforce contract scopes of work and read all contract documents. Collaborate with Communities Project Manager, Consultants, and Engineers to resolve project development issues. Perform routine inspections to ensure environmental compliance and dust control; report findings using the Storm Pro Program. Manage the installation and maintenance of on‑site BMPs as directed. Assist with final permits, tract acceptance, punch lists, and site walks for completion and acceptance. Help develop, prepare, implement, and update the SWPPP when applicable. Communicate daily with construction crews on schedules and site status. Perform any other duties as assigned. Qualities and Experience Two (2) years of related experience in a large builder/developer, land development, civil engineering, or heavy civil engineering contractor. High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred. Valid driver’s license. Knowledge of current environmental requirements. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to take direction, make proper decisions in the field, monitor, troubleshoot, and address field issues. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Project. Receptive to direction and works well within a team environment. Physical & Office/Site Presence Requires the ability to work in excess of eight (8) hours a day if needed, in outdoor elements and an office; operate a motor vehicle; read plans; climb stairs, ladders, walk uneven surfaces, lift, move and/or carry equipment up to 50 lbs; finger dexterity required for computer keyboard and calculator. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $26.06 – $36.31, subject to adjustment based on qualifications, location, and business considerations. Eligible for bonuses, commissions, and benefits per company policy.
