About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: 4E/W Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: 2 years Med Tele experience in an acute care setting License: Active RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Traveler will be required to PASS an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival. Telemetry experience, post-surgical recovery, PIV skills, central line care, and cardiac rhythm interpretation preferred. Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips such as Dobutamine, Cardizem, and Heparin required. Description: This position involves working in a telemetry unit. You will care for patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac needs including CHF and post-cath lab patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. Support on the unit includes a charge nurse who may or may not have a patient assignment. There is a phlebotomy team available, as well as an IV/VAT team during daytime hours. Resource nurses may be available based on staffing. Telemetry monitoring will be available, and an admission nurse will be present. The charting system used is Meditech Expanse. You will be required to work a weekend rotation, with every other weekend off. The schedule will involve working 4 days one week and 3 days the next week. Time off is limited to 7 days and requires a week extension for each full week requested off. You will work 2 out of 3 holidays during the contract period.
