Deli ClerkAs a Deli Clerk, your day is centered around preparing fresh food and creating a welcoming experience for customers. You're often the first stop for something ready to enjoy, helping customers choose from deli meats, cheeses, hot foods, and prepared items while keeping service friendly and efficient. From slicing meats to preparing grab-and-go options, your work helps keep customers coming back.Another slice of the role is keeping the department stocked, clean, and ready throughout the day. You'll prepare hot and cold items, maintain organized displays, and monitor product freshness and temperature. Between restocking, taking orders, and working with equipment, the day stays active, making it a strong fit for someone who enjoys staying busy in a fast-paced environment.What you bring to the table:Customer Interaction Skills: Clear communication when taking orders in person or by phoneFood Preparation Skills: Experience preparing deli products, including slicing, assembling, and portioningProduct Knowledge: Understanding of deli meats, cheeses, prepared foods, and hot case itemsAttention to Detail: Accuracy in portioning, labeling, pricing, and order completionOrganization & Time Management: Managing multiple tasks while maintaining workflow and service speedMerchandising Awareness: Keeping display cases stocked, clean, and visually consistentCash Handling: Processing transactions and making accurate change using register systems (varies by location)Operational Awareness: Following food safety, sanitation, and company proceduresAdaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing customer demandPhysical Capability: Comfort with standing for extended periods, lifting product up to 35lbs, and working in varying temperaturesRequirements:Must be 18 years of age or olderAbility to operate slicers and food preparation equipment following training and safety guidelinesBasic math skills for weighing, portioning, and transactionsAvailability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidaysPrior food service or customer service experience preferredWhy you will choose us:Albertsons Companies Inc. has always been a people-oriented business, and thoughtful people practices remain a core element of our company's philosophy.
