Early Childhood Teacher

Boys & Girls Clubs of Central and Northern NH

Job Description

Job Description

About This Role

We are seeking dedicated team members to join us at the Plymouth State University Childhood Development Center. This is an exciting opportunity for passionate educators to become part of a collaborative, mission-driven team and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children. As a member of our team, you will be part of a dynamic environment that fosters strong partnerships with families and the university community.

The center serves as both a nurturing learning environment for young children and a hands-on training site for university students. Grounded in developmentally appropriate, play-based practices, the center supports children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, as well as opportunities for professional growth and development.

What You'll Do

Prepare Youth for Success

  • Serves as a responsive, inclusive educator who fosters positive relationships with children, families, and staff. Promotes a classroom environment that supports Youth Development Outcomes, serving as a demonstration site for best practices in early childhood education.
  • Responds sensitively to the needs, interests, and developmental needs of individual children; interacts positively; encourages inquiry and exploration; and models positive guidance strategies for college observers and practicum students.
  • Designs and implements curriculum grounded in emergent practices, using intentional planning that is transparent and instructional for observers. Connects theoretical knowledge to practical application.
  • Uses systematic observation and documentation as tools for curriculum planning. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of children’s progress.
  • Establishes and maintains program goals that prioritize child health, safety, and social-emotional well-being, while demonstrating regulatory compliance and ethical practice.
  • Continuously accounts for children in the assigned group by name and face, modeling active supervision and safety protocols.
  • Oversees implementation of NAEYC standards, GSQ (when applicable), Culture DNA code, and BGCCNNH and CCLU policies, explicitly connecting accreditation standards to classroom practices.
  • Dispenses medications according to company policy and administers first aid as needed, communicating appropriately with families. Models professional responsibility and documentation practices.
  • Maintains a well-organized, safe, and aesthetically intentional classroom environment that reflects best practices in early childhood settings.

Program Development, Implementation, and Supervision

  • Collaborates with the Center Director and staff to analyze data for program improvement. Utilizes proper record-keeping and weekly reporting, including documentation of activities and events in the membership system.
  • Facilitates open, professional, and reflective communication with families, staff, children, and college/university partners.
  • Ensures that college students or adult learners are supported in the absence of the Mentor Educator. Leverages team members’ strengths to enhance program delivery.
  • Leads or participates in collaborative planning meetings with the teaching team, facilitating reflective discussions that include student educators.
  • Increases visibility of programs through daily schedule postings, documentation displays, family communication, and digital platforms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of children, staff, and the demonstration site mission.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications :
