Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg Registered Nurse for a 13-week night-shift contract. The unit is a 25-bed medical-surgical floor with a diverse patient population, with a strong focus on stroke care .

Patient Population & Responsibilities:

• Stroke patients, including patients who do not require TPA
• Comfort care and hospice patients
• Post-operative patients, including amputations
• Drains, chest tubes, and feeding tubes
• Heparin drips
• Wound care
• Altered mental status
• CIWA patients
• AKI and dialysis patients
• COPD exacerbations
• Occasional total-care patients

Requirements

• 2+ years of Med/Surg experience
• Current Illinois RN License
• Current BLS/CPR
• ACLS required
• NIHSS required
• Stroke-certified RN preferred
• Must be able to work 3×12-hour shifts
• Must be available every other weekend and holiday
• Must be flexible with the unit's patient population and acuity
