PART TIME 

As a ministry of Move A Mountain Missions, Brother Andre’s Café helps to fulfill our aim of bringing Mustard Seed Communities’ charism of care for the most vulnerable to Pittsburgh and forming the youth of Pittsburgh to have missionary hearts.  Brother Andre’s Café accomplishes this in a threefold manner.

• Create a Christ-centered community rooted in Eucharist and the reality that all of us are God’s beloved daughters and sons.
• Provide meaningful employment for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities that allows them to share their joy with others.
• Provide support the broader IDD community and their families through program development and advocacy.

All of our Baristas must be deeply committed to the mission and objectives of Move A Mountain and Brother Andre’s Café.  They will work directly with our staff with IDD so as to optimize the number of safe, fun and rewarding jobs for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities.  Barista will be tasked with the responsibility of fulfilling the day to day operations of the café and overseeing all of our staff while helping them to reach their full potential.  The position requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to work in the dynamic environment of a startup company, and be an effective team player.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The staff supervisor must become an expert in all of our day to day operations at the coffee shop as they will be tasked with working with the staff with IDD to fulfill these duties which include but are not limited to:

• Overseeing Brother Andre’s Team Members:  The primary responsibility of the baristas will be to work directly with our team members with IDD and implement the plans laid out for each employee by our Occupational Therapy Vocational Program. Ensuring the safety of our staff with IDD as they execute their tasks assisting when necessary.
• Create Welcoming Environment:  Greeting customers in a friendly manner while taking orders
• Menu and Prepping:  Prepping both directly and supervising staff, for coffee products and accessories.  Examples include pre- batch brew coffee, making cold brew, assisting with bagel prep, stocking cups , lids, maintaining filtered water tank. 
• Enforcing Procedures:  Ensuring recipes and open / closing procedures are enforced.
• Stocking Shelves:  Keeping shelves and bins fully stocked as well as the merchandising refrigerator.  Letting management know when the inventory for various items is low.
• Café Environment:  Keeping the work environment and cafe sanitary and organized.
• Routine Maintenance:  Perform routine maintenance of machines and equipment according to the schedule provided by the Brother Andre’
• You will be expected to lift items up to 15 pounds and can expect to be on your feet your entire shift.
