Field Service Technician

Sitech West is seeking a Field Service Technician to install GPS and laser‑based positioning & data products on various makes and models of construction equipment. In addition to equipment installations, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair these systems ensuring our customers remain productive. This position is located in Sacramento, CA. We value a family atmosphere and a hands‑on outdoor work experience. Position Summary Responsible for the installation, service, and repair of GPS and laser‑based positioning & data products on various construction equipment. Preferred Qualifications Welding certification or demonstrated welding proficiency. Knowledge of hydraulic system installation and repair. Ability to read and understand wiring schematics used in installation and troubleshooting. Duties and Responsibilities Diagnose and repair construction technology equipment, emphasizing laser, GPS, and robotic controls. Prepare accurate estimates for customer repairs. Ensure all documentation is completed accurately and efficiently (work orders, service reports, allocation of time, parts tracking). Maintain customer satisfaction by meeting needs and deadlines. Complete all scheduled repairs safely and efficiently. Assist with operator training. Adhere to all safety rules and maintain quality housekeeping in the work area. Assist with ordering parts and organizing the parts warehouse. Perform required data entry. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Write simple correspondence. Present information effectively to customers, clients, and colleagues. Perform basic arithmetic: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. Operate in a safe and alert manner consistently. Use measurement tools for weight, volume, and distance. Follow written or oral instructions. Problem‑solve in concrete, standardized situations. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED and one to three months of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Class C driver license with a clean D.M.V. report. Physical Demands Regular sitting, standing, walking, and manual handling of tools and equipment. Occasionally lift or move objects up to 50 pounds. Requires good vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Work Environment Work involves moving mechanical parts, exposure to fumes, weather conditions, chemicals, vibration, and occasional high places. Noise level is moderate. Compensation Pay Range: $28.00 - $35.00 hourly Wage depends on knowledge, skills, and ability.
