When you join us, you'll be part of a global team harnessing the power of scientific testing and data-driven insights to build a healthier future.Position OverviewThis position is responsible for the overall management of the branch and personnel for the ALS Minerals sample preparation facility in Las Vegas, NV.Specific ResponsibilitiesResponsible for managing all aspects of the sample preparation facility including production, workflow coordination, troubleshooting and sample logisticsEnsure productivity requirements are achieved in a safe and sustainable mannerMeet or exceed all financial targets, including Net Revenue, EBIT, and ROSEffectively manage human resources on site including recruiting, performance management, employee relations, attendance promotion and staff schedulingPromote a safety culture by communicating and upholding ALS Group health, safety & environment policies, and programsResponsible for ensuring sample preparation quality and supporting all quality program mandates including routine checks, resolving quality issues in a timely manner; participating in audits and maintaining all required quality documentationPersonally, exemplify the ALS core values and fosters a workplace culture that reflects these valuesActively encourage and support employee engagement through corporately developed or local initiatives and solicits employee input on making ALS a great place to workUse correct methods in accordance with the established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical qualityObserve established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and proceduresOther duties as assigned.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProven ability to improve efficiencies and meet production schedulesAbility to lead and motivate a teamUnderstanding of Health & Safety StandardExcellent command of the English language, strong verbal, and written communication skillsStrong customer service focus, interpersonal and organizational abilitiesDemonstrated judgment, creativity, integrity, and ability to problem solveExcellent computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and VisioAbility to effectively handle escalations and time critical issues.Required QualificationsMinimum of 3 years management or supervisory experience in a production, manufacturing, industrial or laboratory environmentPost-Secondary Education (Diploma or Degree in Geological or Chemical Sciences preferred)Previous experience in the Mining industry, Minerals, analysis, geology industries preferred.Physical DemandsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time throughout the shiftPlease note that ALS Geochemistry at times operates 24/7 and requires day, afternoon and graveyard shift work, for some employees.
