Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor NICU Location: Falls Church, VA, United States Job Schedule: Full time – Day Shift (3x12) Responsibilities: Embraces, uses, and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit based shared governance and decentralized decision‑making structures and processes. Acts as a role model who leads by example in delivering “Service Always” and in making patient experience a priority on units of responsibility. Provides genuine acts of care, appreciation, recognition, coaching, mentoring and encouragement to all members of the healthcare team, to further enculturate Inova's care delivery model and results for all of Inova's strategic priorities. Unit Overview: Inova L. J. Murphy's Children’s Hospital houses the largest Level IV NICU in the region with 108 beds. The unit is nationally recognized and the first in the nation to receive The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Prematurity. Degree from an accredited school of nursing: BSN or ADN within one year of BSN completion. RN License to practice in Virginia. BLS for Healthcare Provider certification is required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within one year from date of hire. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: At least one year of leadership experience (charge, supervisory or management). At least one year of NICU nursing experience.
