Secretary to the Principal - Hawthorn Elementary JobID: 608 Date Posted: 5/11/2026 Title Secretary to the Principal, Hawthorn Elementary Position Summary The Camdenton R-III School District is seeking a dedicated individual to contribute to our district's overall success. As the Secretary to the Principal at Hawthorn Elementary, you will play a pivotal support role, ensuring the school office remains efficient, compliant, and welcoming on a daily basis. Qualifications High School Diploma required but college degree preferred. Pass all background checks and screenings. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in clerical, secretarial, or administrative roles, preferably in a school setting. Familiarity and competency using Google Workspace, Infinite Campus, Frontline Education and/or SISFin software preferred. Reports To Hawthorn Elementary Principal Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities Manage the principal's appointments, screen calls, and handle correspondence. Oversee the main office, including greeting visitors, maintaining school records, and operating office equipment. Maintain staff attendance, payroll records, student records, and confidentiality. Process purchase orders, manage school budgets, handle petty cash, and manage activity funds. Coordinate with district staff, teachers, and parents, and often prepare newsletters or bulletins. Ability to work in a high-stress environment with frequent interruptions, manage confidential information, and maintain a friendly, professional demeanor. Evaluation Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Support Staff. Terms of Employment 208 days; 8.0 hrs / day. Does not include a 30 minute lunch.
