Nurse Practitioner

UT Southwestern is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (nurse practitioner or physician assistant) to join a world-class pediatric nephrology team. This position will be working in collaboration with UT Southwestern pediatric faculty at Children’s Health in Dallas, Texas as part of a multidisciplinary APP team providing comprehensive care to pediatric patients who suffer from renal disorders. The role will demonstrate a high degree of critical thinking and clinical expertise in working with pediatric patients in the inpatient setting and is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management education, consultation, and health promotion and care coordination for patients and families. Job Responsibilities Diagnose and treat critically ill patients, develop and manage treatment plans, and perform advanced procedures Conduct and document comprehensive initial and ongoing physical examinations based on age and diagnosis, including psychological status Synthesize data and utilize evidence to develop, implement, and evaluate the patient plan of care, including ordering and interpreting laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic studies/results Demonstrate proficiency in technical/procedural skills, as appropriate based on specialty and training Provide relevant management, referrals, counseling, and education to patients, families and caregivers related to current care and preventive health measures Facilitate/participate in quality related initiatives through planned group processes, workshops, seminars, and staff meetings, to improve clinical and system practice performance Collaborate in research projects and protocols; and routinely apply evidence based best practices to patient care Position Details Full‑time position Collaborative teaching environment State‑of‑the‑art facility with leading‑edge technology Excellent benefits including TRS Pension Plan, medical, dental, vision and more!
